If the top is flowy, I’d suggest keeping the bottoms tight, weather it be skinny jeans or a bodycon skirt, unless you wanna go for that 70’s show look, which is totally ok if that’s how you roll; or you wanna look like Britney on I’m not a girl not yet woman.
The one I chose here had a V neckline, hence a necklace with a centre stone made the outfit flow much nicer than if I would have gone for a chocker necklace, no matter how instyle they are at the moment, sometimes it’s better to pay attention at the shapes we are trying to create or break rather than guiding ourselves by a trend.
If the top had had a crew neck (round neckline) then a chocker, earrings or a longer necklace would have been more suitable.
Kept the rest of my jewellery to a minimum, and decided to let my latest bag obsession be the star.
The key to layering when wearing a cropped blouse is to wear something flowy enough to play around with it and be able to show more and less skin depending on the movement of the moment, a fringed black cape like the suede one I chose here played two major roles, firstly it toned down the whole carnivalesque print in the outfits, and secondly it allowed for a flirtatious play of I show I don’t show skin, which I’m all about on a summer night.
